Cardinal Fitness to Open in Rockford, IL

A second new fitness franchise appears to be coming to the Pavilion at Riverside shopping center on the southwest corner of Mulford Road and East Riverside Boulevard in Rockford. The center’s owner, Paul Hemmer Cos. of Fort Mitchell, Ky., is clearing out the former spaces of both the 10th Inning Bar & Grill and Mortgage Solutions for a health club. Workers on-site said the space is to be for Cardinal Fitness.

We were unable to get either Paul Hemmer Cos. or Cardinal Fitness officials on the phone. The health club chain, though, has 65 centers and is in a growth mode, recently opening centers in Bridgeview, Frankfort, McHenry and Springfield with another opening soon in Schaumburg, according to its Web site.
