Anytime Fitness Franchise Expands in Wisconsin

[Roscoe, WI] A new Anytime Fitness franchise is set to open Nov. 1 in Roscoe’s Second Street Plaza, 11447 Second St., Suite 11.

The 4,800-square-foot facility will feature several cardio-workout machines - including six treadmills, six elliptical machines and two upright bikes - and a selection of free weights and circuit equipment from brands including Life Fitness and Hammer Strength.

Known for its 24-hours-a-day access, Anytime Fitness currently has locations in Beloit and Rockford, and will be adding two facilities in Janesville in the near future as well.

For Daisy and Ray Konomi, of Madison, the Roscoe location will be their first Anytime Fitness franchise, but the couple also has plans to open a second location in Machesney Park in about six months.

“By the end of the year, Anytime Fitness will have 1,700 clubs nationwide, and one in Canada. The good thing about this is it’s a 24-hour fitness club and with one membership, you can use all the clubs nationwide,” Daisy Konomi said.

“There’s no particular reason why we chose Roscoe, but after we purchased the property (in April) then we drove down and took a look at it, and I loved it - it’s the perfect little town,” she added.

In addition to workout equipment, the facility will feature tanning, two personal trainers and a massage therapist, Konomi said. The location will be staffed 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays, and can be accessed with a key during all other hours.

Currently about 50 people have enrolled through a promotional early membership. Others who wish to enroll prior to the opening date can do so by contacting the Konomis, at (608)513-3635.

“We’d like to get about 1,000 members - for that square footage, that’s a perfect amount,” Konomi said.

“People who want to sign up would just have to call me, and I can come down whenever it’s most convenient for them,” she added. “We’re also going to be at the Roscoe Health Fair Oct. 17. If people would be interested in stopping by, we can give them additional information and show them what the gym is going to look like.”

Membership rates are $39.99 per month with a 12-month or 24-month agreement, and $50 for a month-to-month membership. Family and couples rates also are available.
